The answer depends on which county the arrest happened in, and within larger counties, which classification the inmate was assigned. Below are the jails our team works with across the Bay Area, Sacramento, and the Central Valley — with the information you need to confirm custody, post bail, and arrange a visit.

Alameda County

• Santa Rita Jail — Dublin, CA. The primary detention facility for Alameda County. Adults arrested in Oakland, Berkeley, Hayward, Fremont, and surrounding cities are booked here.
• Glenn Dyer Detention Facility — Oakland, CA. Closed since June 2019. Operations consolidated to Santa Rita Jail.

Contra Costa County

• Martinez Detention Facility — Martinez, CA. The county’s primary intake facility and maximum-security jail.
• West County Detention Facility — Richmond, CA. Co-educational medium-security facility for inmates who don’t require maximum-security housing.

San Francisco County

• San Francisco County Jail — San Francisco, CA. A system of jails across multiple locations, with intake at 425 7th Street and longer-term housing at the Hall of Justice on Bryant Street and the San Bruno complex.

Santa Clara County

• Santa Clara County Main Jail — San Jose, CA. The county’s primary intake facility, housing medium- to maximum-security male inmates.
• Elmwood Correctional Facility — Milpitas, CA. One of the largest correctional complexes in the country, housing minimum- and medium-security men in one facility and women in a separate facility.

San Mateo County

• Maguire Correctional Facility — Redwood City, CA. The county’s main jail, primarily housing male inmates.

Marin County

• Marin County Jail — San Rafael, CA. The county’s only adult detention facility, located on the Civic Center grounds. Houses both men and women.

Solano County

• Claybank Detention Facility — Fairfield, CA. Houses primarily sentenced male inmates serving county jail time.
• Stanton Correctional Facility — Fairfield, CA. Adjacent to Claybank; serves as the central location for video visitation across the Solano County jail system.

Sacramento County

• Sacramento County Main Jail — Sacramento, CA. The county’s primary intake and pretrial detention facility in downtown Sacramento.
• Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center — Elk Grove, CA. The primary custody facility for inmates sentenced to county jail in Sacramento County. Co-educational.

San Joaquin County

• San Joaquin County Jail — French Camp, CA. The county’s main detention facility, just south of Stockton.
• San Joaquin Honor Farm — French Camp, CA. The minimum-security division of the county jail complex.

Yolo County

• Monroe Detention Center — Woodland, CA. The county’s primary adult detention facility, located near the Yolo County Courthouse.
